Forgiveness

The Amish community at Lancaster County lost five of their daughters. After executing the girls at the schoolhouse, the milkman killed himself. Despite the pain of the loss, the community attended the killer's funeral and even raised funds to support his wife and children.

I want to be beautiful!

This is Jeffrey Katzenberg, whom I saw at an interview last night. He's the man behind Shrek, Shrek 2, then Shrek the Third... Yes, it was beautiful the first time, but when is he going to stop?

The power to change things

So I'm finally starting a new blog. I had one on Fotolog (www.fotolog.com/uakari), but stopped posting after a while. Let me start fresh here, with new artwork and reflections.
I drew this little boy yesterday during a lecture. The speaker was talking about a wall painted in orange-juice-vomit color. He told someone who was in charge how ugly that was, and they repainted it. We have power to change things.
Right now, my mind is in Sudan. A genocide is going on right now. We criticize the people who ignored the Holocaust while we're doing exactly the same thing. We did it with Rwanda, and we're doing it again with Sudan. Hundreds of thousands of people have already been killed, and the Western world has turned its face away. You ask me why? Because the big money is in the Middle East. Africa does not pay off.
Bringing it back to the power to change things, I've been thinking of ways I could change things here, even if it is something small. I'm open to ideas and suggestions.
